Description
The Financial Awareness Foundation (TFAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2013 with a mission to combat the lack of financial awareness and the financial illiteracy epidemic. We believe that financial education is crucial for empowering individuals to make informed money decisions and secure their financial future, thereby improving their quality of life and contributing to a better world.
Our focus areas include Promoting Financial Awareness and Financial Literacy TFAF takes a proactive leadership role in recognizing organizations dedicated to improving financial awareness and financial literacy. We collaborate with various stakeholders, including associations, nonprofits, educational institutions, municipalities, employers, and the media, to drive initiatives such as celebrating
- April as Financial Literacy Month
- October as Estate & Gift Planning Awareness Month
The plan is to touch the majority of the general public, high net worth individuals, financial service and nonprofit professionals and their organizations at least twice a year through these strategic venues, with educational and motivating reminders to get and keep their financial house in order with current financial, estate, and gift plans.
These activities have developed in The Improving Financial Awareness & Financial Literacy Movement. The Movement began in the USA over a decade ago and has since expanded globally, with initiatives developing over 5 continents. We also foster the establishment of The International Improving Financial Awareness and Financial Literacy Research Centers within universities worldwide to advance financial education at the local level, while networking together into a Global Problem-Solving Think Tank. In addition to financial awareness and financial literacy, TFAF emphasizes the importance of teaching other key life skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, creativity, maintaining a neutral mind, and ethical decision-making. We believe that these fundamentals are essential for addressing various needed social and political challenges.
Developing Educational Content and Programs TFAF develops and delivers educational content and programs tailored for diverse audiences, including the general public, financial professionals, and educational institutions.
Our aim is to end inherited poverty by equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills needed for financial and estate planning, charitable giving, and sustainable financial practices.
Catalyzing Positive Change The Improving Financial Awareness & Financial Literacy Movement serves as a pivotal communication platform aimed at accelerating substantial strides in financial awareness and financial literacy along with a catalyst for broader social improvements, including gender equality and sustainable efforts. We advocate for systemic change and collaboration among stakeholders to create a more equitable and sustainable future.
